To make your planning easier, we’ve partnered with a trusted list of caterers, photographers, DJs, makeup artists, and more—but if you have a favorite vendor, we welcome them too. Our Story

Hi, we are Ademola and Amber Coker, and we are so honored that you’re considering The Ayo Place for your celebration. “Ayo” means joy in Yoruba, and that single word captures the heart behind everything we do. To us, joy is more than just a fleeting feeling—it’s the spark that fills a room with laughter, turns simple moments into cherished memories, and makes life’s milestones unforgettable. Our dream in building The Ayo Place was to create a space where joy is not only welcomed but multiplied, leaving you and your guests with memories you’ll carry for a lifetime.

Ademola grew up in Nigeria, where the warmth of hospitality is part of everyday life. He carries that love for people and community into everything he does. Amber, a proud Grand Rapids native, has always been passionate about creating meaningful spaces where people feel valued and celebrated. Together, we combined our roots, our values, and our vision to create The Ayo Place—a venue designed not just for events, but for life’s most meaningful celebrations.

We welcome all kinds of celebrations! From weddings, quinceañeras, and engagement parties to showers, anniversaries, corporate events, and holiday gatherings, our versatile spaces can be tailored to fit your vision.
Do you provide vendors for catering, photography, and other services?
Yes! We have a thoughtfully curated list of trusted vendors, including caterers, photographers, DJs, makeup artists, and more. If you already have a favorite vendor, we’re happy to work with them as well.
How many guests can your spaces accommodate?
Our Grand Ballroom holds up to 300 guests, while The Oliade Room accommodates up to 200. The Olami Courtyard and Bar & Lounge offer flexible options for smaller or outdoor gatherings.
Can we use multiple spaces for our event?
Absolutely! Many clients combine our ballrooms with the courtyard or Bar & Lounge to create a seamless flow and give guests different spaces to enjoy throughout the celebration.
How do we book a tour or reserve a space?
